Biographical Sketch

Wilson Acosta has been fishing since he was a boy.  Now in his 60's, he is considering selling his boat and retiring.

Scope and Content Note
The interview with Wilson Acosta provides a insight into his lifelong experience as a shrimper. Acosta discusses his family's fishing background, his decision to become an independent shrimper, and the challenges faced in the industry. He reflects on the impact of high fuel costs on profitability, the struggle to make a sustainable income, and the difficulty in selling shrimp at a fair price. Acosta also expresses his intention to retire from shrimping due to the industry's increasing difficulties.
