Sherwood Rowland, Donald Bren Research Professor of Chemistry at the University of California, Irvine, and 1995 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, in Rowland’s office at UC Irvine for the American Meteorological Society’s Tape Recorded Interview Project. Rowland discusses his early life in Delaware, Ohio, his accelerated education, and his family background, including his father’s career as a mathematics professor. He recounts his experiences as a student-athlete and his military service in the Navy during World War II.
