Biographical Sketch

Mike Blackwood is a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, with a deep-rooted passion for fishing and hunting. He attended Ray High School and later graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in microbiology, specializing in viral studies. Blackwood's love for the outdoors, particularly fishing and hunting, was nurtured from a young age. He spent a significant part of his life on the water, fishing, and hunting ducks. He also enjoyed bird hunting and bow hunting for elk in Colorado. His interest in fishing led him to design his own lures in the 1970s, which he found more effective for the fishing conditions he encountered. After university, Blackwood returned to Corpus Christi and began a career in the medical field. His background in microbiology made him a good fit for promoting medical products to physicians and hospitals. He spent his career in detail activity, calling on physicians and pharmacies. In his later years, Blackwood remained active in outdoor activities. Despite nearing his eightieth birthday, he continued to enjoy fishing and hunting, living what one of his doctor friends described as his "dream."
